Born to a Plainsfolk father and Dunesfolk mother, Yumu grew up in a modest homestead situated on a small island in the southern seas, where her parents became involved with a certain “maritime trading business”. This endeavor became lucrative and because of this, she and her siblings received a well-rounded and cultured education.


Shortly after reaching a milestone that marked her as an adult, Yumu learned that she was betrothed to a wealthy stranger–which she took an immediate issue with. Having always had a strong desire to see the wonders of the world since she was a child, she seized the opportunity to board a ship to Gridania and ran away from her childhood home and those responsibilities that threatened to chain her down.


New responsibilities (and headaches) found her quickly, however. Very soon after awakening her latent Echo ability, Yumu found herself embroiled in the whirlwind dramas of the Scions of the Seventh Dawns, meeting and joining the organization upon running into Tataru Taru in Kugane while meeting with a few other potential business associates.


Since meeting them, she has rarely known an onze of peace, but the adventuring life has been more fulfilling than she’d ever imagined.


While the world may be returning to “normal” and life calming down for Yumu after certain recent events, she has made no plans on going back home to join her siblings in continuing their family’s career path; a point of contention between her and her parents that have led her to not having much correspondence with them or the rest of her family.


At present, her shrewd business senses have led her to maintaining and utilizing an ever-expanding orange grove for international juice shipments. It also led to her running in the same circle as her first and second husbands, who impressed her their wit and wallet respectively.
